Emprise Corporation Releases Generation III Emprise Anemometer

Emprise Corporation Releases Generation III Emprise Anemometer Emprise Corporation is pleased to announce the release of our new and improved anemometer design, The Emprise Generation III, now with an extensive design update resulting in improved performance and added convenience.

Over the past 30 years the Emprise anemometer design has evolved into a precise and rugged instrument used by automotive manufacturers and race teams over the world. The design has proven ideally suited for a variety of air flow measurement applications including vehicle and building ventilation (HVAC) ducts, cabin airflow, engine compartment airflow, intake and exhaust manifolds, brake cooling ducts, wind tunnels and under vehicle airflow. Whenever an accurate and wide-ranging flow measurement is required, Emprise turbine anemometers will provide years of reliable service.

The Emprise anemometer uses a helical turbine to measure air velocity. As air passes through the anemometer, the turbine blade rotates at a speed proportional to the air velocity. Turbine speed is sensed by infrared sensors which output a TTL square wave signal at a frequency proportional to speed. The sensors also output a digital bit to indicate the direction of flow. The anemometer turbine and support ring are machined from aluminum alloy billet using an extremely accurate 3D CNC machining process. The turbine blade rotates on high precision ABEC 5 bearings. The bearings are easily replaceable if they become damaged or contaminated.

Ron DuBuose, President of Emprise Corporation, said, "We are pleased to develop state-of-the-art instrumentation that meets the energy measurement and management needs of our customers. Emprise Corporation is a global leader in anemometer technology with a dominant position in the industry. We continue to leverage our technical strengths to deliver new products that are both innovative and cost-effective."

Our Generation III anemometer has received an extensive design update resulting in improved performance and convenience. The new design was put through a rigorous testing program to insure reliability.

  • A new modular electronics package (MEP) that is now field replaceable. (Re-calibration is not required when replacing the MEP)
  • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) electronics are used to reduce the size of the MEP resulting in reduced aero blockage
  • Metric hardware allows customers to easily obtain replacement hardware around the world - Revised sensor windows in the turbine rim for improved aerodynamics
  • Available in 2”, 3”, 3.5”, 4”, 5” and 6” sizes
