Jet Engine Starter Test Stand

Starter performance and overrun testing were previously performed on two separate test stands. Emprise designed an electric motor/clutch system that allows United to run both tests on one stand. The Emprise design also accommodates both AlliedSignal and Hamilton Standard starters. The stand is fully automatic, and the inertia is generated by a dynamometer, eliminating the need for dangerous flywheels.
