Custom Test Stands and Test Facilities for Industrial Applications
Emprise recently commissioned General Electric’s new test facility, Test Stand 8, to accommodate the world’s largest and most efficient industrial gas turbine, known as the 9H. The Emprise team designed the facility and a railcar to transport the 400-ton turbine from production to the test facility (where full-speed, no-load and full-load test is performed).
The facility features a unique, separate two-story control building that is exceptionally quiet and free from vibrations. The first floor houses the turbine controls, the technicians and a conference area. The second floor accommodates the engineering lab and instrumentation commonly needed for prototype testing. The Emprise team designed and commissioned the facility in just fourteen months.
